LSESU CDS

CDS was founded in 2002 by a group of LSE students that aims to promote a global understanding about China's economic and social development by organizing lectures for which we invite a wide range of speakers including well-known scholars, professionals in financial services industry and China-related businesses as well as journalists and writers.

Since it was founded, CDS quickly emerged to become one of the fastest growing and most popular societies with 500 members at the LSE. CDS was awarded Highly Commended Best Overall Society, Best Society Event, and Best Society Website 2006/2007. The Tea and Knowledge Lecture Series of CDS has also been honored as Highly Commended in Best Series of Events by LSE Student Union 2007/2008.

CDS is a real society giving detailed insight to China, her economical, political, internation relational and various other development issues in the LSE. With a host of exciting and interesting hot topics debated at public lectures, another great year for CDS lies ahead.
